Windjammers! Join the Milford Yacht Club for the first annual: The Specimen Cup Sunday, June 27th Calling all sailing lawyers and doctors! It’s time for justice on the water. On June 27th, 2010, Milford Yacht Club (MYC) will be sponsoring the first annual “Specimen Cup Regatta”. This will be a friendly PHRF regatta, pitting doctors against attorneys. Every boat must have at least one doctor or lawyer on board. The number of divisions, including spinnaker, will depend on participation. Each class will be scored separately with it’s own awards. In addition, a weighted scoring system will be used to declare either the doctors or lawyers the overall winner. A portion of the entry fee will be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank. Imagine the pride you’ll feel seeing your name etched on the “Specimen Cup Perpetual Trophy” to be displayed at MYC. Yes, it will feature an actual specimen cup. A lively after race party will be held on the back deck of MYC. The view is arguably one of the best of any yacht club on the Connecticut side of the Long Island Sound. The entry fee is $50 per boat. Tickets for the party are $12 per person if paid with entry or $15 per person at the door. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, June 23rd. Milford Yacht Club invites skippers, their guests and their crews, to the Club’s bar and restaurant on Saturday and Sunday. Space will be provided at no extra cost to participating yachts on Saturday evening. Expect some rafting. www.milfordyachtclub.com/pages/sailing-/racing---2010/specimen-cup-627.php
