Corrected finish order for the 2005 MYC Invt'l race.
Class A 1 XSNRG 2 Dr. Evil 3 Spitfire 4 Sectet 5 2Th'Max 6 Caliente 7 Snowbird 8 Hot Flash 9 Go Dog Go 10 Skibereen 11 TBD 12 Defiant 13 Jackaroo 14 Wild Eyes 15 Intrepid 16 Sagacious (DNF due to a reported "freakish" gear failure...I wonder what broke)
Class B 1 Golden Rule 2 Dazni 3 Nunnehi 4 Savage 5 Kari 6 Anneliese 7 SPQR 8 Brilliant Disguise 9 More Magic 10 Banshee 11 Esperance 12 Relentless 13 Audacious
Class D (Class C was omitted per sailing instructions, but the results listed these boats as Class C) 1 Sling Shot 2 Surrender 3 Paikea 4 Full Tilt (we're pretty happy with a 4th place finish 'cause it was just Joyce and me racing!) 5 Evergreen 6 Black Hawk 7 Virace
Any mistakes above are probably due to somebody other than me, so don't complain if something's wrong...go over to the MYC web site and check out their results. And I don't have the results for the Echelles one-design class, but they all got trophies, so they know who they are.
It was a long hot race, and we had a great time. The beer and food made for a fun party at MYC after a tough day on the water. The wind clocked around to the south from the southeast as the race progressed, and we all had to dodge a huge tug towing a ginormous barge on the first windward leg.
It was definitely an SPF-30 kinda day!

Unfortunatley the Invitational was an example of really poor race management on the part of RC. Considering the infrastructure they had (marks, mark boats, people) they made a big mistake in having a leeward mark other than the start pin. That made it so there was no drop mark to enable them to square the course when the wind shifted.
Reaching back and forth is not a fair test of racing skill and the PHRF handicaps don't compute properly under conditions like that.
Nice weather but a bad day of racing.
Just my .02

I agree with Kevin on the running of this race, not well done. Not quite moosehead material (that's saved for an earlier event), but not professional, and an embarrassment for the MYC.
Shame too, the day turned out to be a great day for a race.
